Welcome to the Cafe!
A brief tour:
The discuss page is a blog format where each blog post can become a forum topic as people comment on it. If you wish to be a member of the site so that you can create new posts for discussion, email the site’s builder and she will send you an invite! Anyone can comment on an existing post.
The envision page is a collection of thought on theology and philosophy of youth ministry, as well as other thoughts along those lines.
The describe page is where you can post a blurb about yourself and your context, and if you’re going to hang out at the cafe, please give us an intro!
The peruse page is an ordered walk through some youth ministry reading material, however, you don’t have to go in the order listed, although if you’ve never read any of the books, or are brand new to youth ministry, we recommend following the order on the page. There are links to the individual book forums on that page…
The worship page has ideas for corporate worship that you can tweak to use in your context. Currently, the downloads are a form of evening prayer taken from the Book of Common Prayer, and tweaked to make them more usable in a youth group context.
The teach page contains youth ministry curriculum reviews as well as ideas for adapting curriculum to the group of youth at your home church.
The fun page is full of, well fun! Not that the others aren’t, but if you want to find out weird things about the members here, post funny youth ministry stories, complete the “you know you’re in youth ministry when…” sentence or whatever, this is the page for it.
Now that you know your way around, grab your favorite hot drink, pull up a chair and join the discussion!
